No! This is totally visual and happens right in front of their eyes! No funny movements or unnatural actions, just impossible close up magic in its purest form!

Is it a real egg?

YES! Hatching does not use ANY rubber eggs or fakes. You can borrow an egg, borrow the coin really 'transfer their signed coin inside the egg!

I've seen other effects where a coin only appears to go into a can or bottle, is this the same?

No! Hatching takes the concept of a signed coin in an impossible place, and moves it to the highest level. The coin REALLY IS INSIDE THE EGG! For centuries, the egg has been a symbol of purity and nature. That's why this effect has such a strong psychological impact on the audience. The coin really is inside the egg before it's being broken, and the egg is shown 360 degrees to be free of scratches or gimmicks.

Do I have to use my own egg?

"I walked into the store and said goodmorning. The clerk said goodmorning. I walked to the back of the store and came to the counter with a dozen eggs. The owner said that I must love to eat eggs because I was in the night before and got a dozen. I said to him that I had to throw them out because my wife had found something inside one of the eggs. He had a really puzzled look on his face. He said"you mean your wife found something in the carton the eggs came in" I said no, inside one of the eggs. I casually said I will also take a scratch ticket. The bait was set, and he took it. He asked what did she find? I said a coin. He said a coin, that's impossible!! I said not really, I explained that if a person really tried hard that a coin could pass through an egg, and not break the shell. He laughed and said no way. By this time there were approx 7 people in the store, and they were also telling me that it was impossible. I asked the clerk if he would pick out an egg and I would prove once and for all that it could be done. The clerk smiled and then proceeded to walk to the back of the store, and came back with an egg from a different carton. I must let you all in on a little secret. I always show the clerk new effects and entertain him and his wife when I go in and get groceries, so he knew something was up, but the others in the store had no idea what was about to happen. All they knew, was I was telling the clerk that I could make a coin pass through an egg with out breaking the shell. And further more the egg was from an entirly different carton from the back of the store. He comes back with the egg, and hands it to me. I put it up to my ear and slightly shake it. I say that nothing is in there,some people laugh. I ask if anyone has a quarter. A lady hands me one, and I ask her to sign it. I retrieve my sharpie, and she signs the coin. I also have her sign the egg, so no one thinks that I am using a different egg( I am so far ahead it hurts) I proceed to do the coin penatration through the egg, and the looks on these peoples faces were of pure amazement. I never knew that an effect like this would be so emotional for spectators. I mean I had to pause after the penatration, to allow the shock to set in, and let them get passed it for the reveal. I showed the egg to everyone quite fairly, and showed my palms. People were shaking there heads in dis belief. I asked the clerk for his empty coffee cup. I asked another spectator to puncture the egg gently with the tip of a pen until there was a small hole. I pulled out a set of twezzers and handed them to the spectator, and ask him to remove the shell until he could see something inside. He started to do as I asked, then stopped. He looked up at me and said "NO ******* WAY" He handed me the tweezers and stepped back. I showed the remaining spectators the coin in the egg, before I removed the coin from INSIDE THE EGG. I handed out the coin, and the first spectator verified the signed coin. I then picked up the remainder of ther shell and asked if anyone want the shell. Some people started to clap, others laughed and others asked what else can you do. The clerk smiled and completed my transaction.

I really like an effect that goes over well the first time. To me the handling is not only easy, but practical, and the price for the effect is great. To my knowledge,this gimmick construction is new, and well worth the money spent.

"I feel like this was a great buy for me. An impromptu version is included, and everything is fair and visual. Its not difficult to learn (although will obviously require practise, as all effects do).

"I have to tell you, I really liked this effect, method and production. The effect is PURE! It is as clean as clean can be, and if you don't like ONE handling, you have several to pick from. YES, there is some prep time involved, but it's not hard, and the cost is pennies per. The egg AND the coin can be signed.

The method is clever... In essence, what it LOOKS like is ALMOST what does in fact happen, and in the end all the evidence is destroyed. This could easily land on a T special and be one of those WOW reputation makers. I think it would be useable in a variety of settings; Bizarre, children, story teller, close-up. It would be a great lead in to any number of other egg effects, and could POSSIBLY even be used with a thin wedding band or ring.

The E book is well produced, has MANY MANY photo's, and is thorough, well written and considering the levels of language translation that went on here, very articulate."
